PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

The MID Performance Company is an exponent of South African culture. MID’s Performance Company presents Afrofusion, a unique amalgamation of both indigenous and contemporary cross-cultural South African dance, music and ritual with Western contemporary dance forms. The extensive repertoire includes works by award-winning choreographers, Robyn Orlin, Sunnyboy Mandla Motau and Sylvia “Magogo” Glasser. The repertoire is rooted in African rituals and art forms, narratives past and present, and is characterised by its sheer physical beauty and spiritual expressiveness.

The company consists of dancers who are versatile performers and skilled facilitators who maintain a standard of professional excellence in performance (theatres and site-specific work), interactive Edudance and Afrofusion workshops, school performances, lecture demonstrations, and open rehearsals.
